The name "YANKATINO!" is derived from the words "Yankee" and "Latino", which describes the diverse mix of musicians spanning from the U.S.A. to Latin America. YANKATINO! creates a fusion of American-born jazz and pulsing Latin rhythms that make you want to dance.

Carol "Flaca" Macpherson - Trombone, Backup Vocals, Claves, and Cowbell. A native of Dayton, Ohio, and a graduate of Northwestern University, Carol is no "princess." She has been known to burst the ear drums of many sound men, with both her trombone playing and belching talents! Just to clarify, she is a perfect lady on stage.
Mike "Casanova" Salter - Alto and Tenor Sax, Cowbell, Claves, and Guiro. A native of St. Louis, Missouri, Mike is a graduate of Northern Illinois University. Mike just can't keep the ladies away, with both his amazing musicianship and his good looks...not that it really bothers him.
Roberto "Carpacho" Marin, the band's Fearless Leader! - Bass, and Lead Vocals. Colombian native and funny man, Roberto is originally from the Ciudad de la Eterna Primavera y mujeres bellas, Medellin. He attended El Colegio de Bellas Artes and the "School of Hard Knox".
Jennifer Victoria Marin - Vocals, and Cowbell. Born in Chicago, Jennifer is currently attending the University of Chicago and plans to be a doctor after all of her parent's money is spent. She plans to support them after she becomes a doctor...little sh_t! She studied piano at Suzuki Music School.
Alex English - Piano A Lisle, Illinois native, Alex is our very talented youngest member and has an aversion to wearing socks. Not sure why, but we just accept him as is. Alex studied music at Naperville Central High School.
Cristobal "Animal" Flores - Timbales, Guiro, Cowbell, and Tambora. Cristobal was born in Utuado, Puerto Rico and attended La Escuela de Musica en Utuado and graduated from what he would call La Escuela de la Calle: Humboldt Park. You can tell because toca con el corazon!!!
Guido "Nene" Acevedo - Congas Guido Acevedo was born in Guayaquil, Ecuador and is currently attending the Chicago School of Music...not really, but it sounds good. Guido puts his heart and soul into the congas.
